Top pick: #1 (THE ADMIRAL) (5-2) - Colt by "Giant's Causeway" looked very sharp when breaking his maiden in wire-to-wire fashion, going 7-furlongs Feb. 15th. He defeated a good field, and the final time of 1:22.20 was excellent. Has the rail and can take this field from gate-to-wire.
2nd pick: #4 (Papa Turf) (7-2) - The field's most experienced runner, speed/stalker was a long "neck" better than today's rival "Roger Rocket" last out, and has worked three times since. Colt has gone 4-1-1-1 on this surface, and should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #7 (True Ten) (4-1) - Mercedes Stable home-bred was a good-looking debut winner going 6-furlongs facing fellow Cal-breds on Feb. 16th. The final time (1:09.60) was quick, and he's been working fast since. We'll find out a lot more about him this afternoon.
4th pick: #5 (Roger Rocket) (6-1) - "Roger" is from the same barn (Bob Baffert) and comes off an even effort here in the Gs "San Vincente" stakes Feb. 16th. He only missed the place spot by 1 1/2 lengths and has worked fast twice since. Can factor in his first around two-turns.
