Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (MUM'S FOREST) (7-2) - Lightly-raced 4-year-old chased a quick pace while wide before weakening to check in fourth here at this claiming price going five furlongs June 23. It was her first since debuting 13.5 months ago and trainer Charlie Treece brings her back in 16 days for her follow up attempt. She meets a weak looking field and can take this if able to avoid a possible bounce.
2nd pick: #4 (La Baresina) (9-2) - One of two fillies making their debuts from the barn of Craig Dollase. The pair have similar work patterns, but this 5-year-old appears to have out-worked her barn mate by six lengths at Los Alamitos June 7. Can factor if ready.
3rd pick: #2 (Tuscan Sun) (4-1) - Another making her debut, home bred is by a sire that specializes in speed types ('Cyclotron'). Working steadily here since mid-April, 3-year-old has a dozen published local breezes since then. In a good small barn (Karen Headley) and Edwin Maldonado is aboard.
4th pick: #1 (Tooluckysupermoon) (5-2) - Speedy mare missed by a 'neck' going five furlong here at this claiming price June 23. 5-year-old was involved in a pace-fight the entire contest and the additional furlong she travels today may not be in her best interest. Contender despite that.
