Top pick: #2 (SKI'S COPPER PENNY) (4-1) - She did not break sharply last out and had to rally from far back to finish 5th of 12, beaten just under two lengths. Race was here at this tag and trip Jan. 3. Solid effort and there's plenty of visible pace for her to rally into. Can take this with a clean break and trouble free trip.
nd pick: #5 (Christmas Secret) (5-1) - Mare has been away from action since April of 2013. She's working steadily, dropping way down in class, and showed some ability when last raced. A major factor if ready.
rd pick: #10 (Profit Motive) (8-1) - Home bred has a useful debut here Jan. 2. Racing at here at this level and distance, she rallied while 5-wide to finish 7th of 12, beaten 2 1/2 lengths. Trainer Mike Machowsky (25% second time out) brings her back quickly and adds blinkers.
th pick: #12 (Ruby and Diamonds) (6-1) - Speedy filly has been competitive in both starts to date. However, she's moving from a rail slot to post #12. Needs to break running.
th pick: #8 (Happy;s Golden Gal) (8-1) - One of two that are debuting, she has a steady work tab with several drills that show some speed is present. She need not be much to factor against this group.
