Racing on the grass in the G2 Del Mar Derby, he went right to the front, set solid fractions, and easily put away a bid by the heavily 'Prospect Park.' Working steadily, on paper his early speed gives him a big tactical advantage.
2nd pick: #2 (Mister Brightside) (5-1) - Irish bred and English raced, he's been competitive in most all his starts and has gone 8-3-2-3 racing on the grass. In a sharp barn (Jeremy Nosada) he adds Lasix and had this colt work a bullet three-furlongs here Oct 21.
3rd pick: #1 (Hunt) (6-1) - Another Irish bred, he just missed when making his North American debut Aug 30 at Del Mar. Grey gelding is working steadily for this and Mike Smith stays aboard.
4th pick: #8 (Royal Albert Hall) (6-1) - English bred ships back from Belmont where he raced both wide and evenly there in a G3 stakes Oct 3. He had finished second to 'Om' at Del mar in his previous race and can factor today from off the pace.
5th pick: #5 (Boone Docks) (20-1) - Lightly-raced and well bred, he moves way up in class for his first facing winners. He broke his maiden here going nine-furlongs Oct 1 and is still improving.
