Top pick: #4 (CHELIOS) (3-1) - He's been sharp in all three starts and last out finished second to today's rival "Ferocious" going 7-furlongs. Glen Hill home-bred had a bit of a tough trip that day and it's apprentice Van Dyke off and Gary Stevens on. Colt can cause a mild upset.
2nd pick: #1 (Ferocious) (5-2) - As mentioned above, he defeated "Chelios" last out here going 7-furlongs and this well-bred speed/stalker has gone 3-2-1-0 to date, with all coming on this main track. Working well and this son of "Tale of the Cat" still has room for upside.
3rd pick: #3 (Kobe's Back) (9-5) - The probable favorite, strong finisher ships back from New York where he just failed in Aqueduct's "Bay Shore" stakes (G3) on April 5th. Grey colt hit the gate at the break and did well under the circumstances. If you throw out his two-turn races, son of "Flatter" has gone 4-2-1-1 in sprints. Win candidate.
4th pick: #2 (Tonito M) (6-1) - Puerto Rican invader is a "neck" short of being undefeated (7-6-1-0) and his main rival in all of those starts ("Roman Approval") finished second at Belmont on Thursday in his first race after shipping from the island nation. Working very fast and the combination of trainer (Hollendorfer) and jockey (Bejarano) have scored at a 35% clip over the past 17 months when teamed up.
