Top pick: #7 (KNOW MORE) - Colt by "Lion Heart" has run well in both appearances and broke his maiden when debuting in a G2 stakes which is a very rare occurrence. He followed that up with a rallying 2nd place finish in the (G10 Del mar Futurity. Like many entered, he racing on real dirt for the first time and also attempting two turns. Can take this "wide open" contest at a square price.
2nd pick: #1 (Carving) - He's already proven that he can win on both real dirt and going two-turns when he was an easy winner of a $50K stakes on Sep 12th at Fairplex. Has the rail, a sharp local work, and of the three entered here by Bob Baffert, he'll be the longest price.
3rd pick: #8 (Capo Bastogne) - He rallied to finish 4th last out in the Del mar Futurity and had some serious traffic trouble in mid-stretch. He's since come back with a fine pair of sharp local works and is a win candidate.
4th pick: #2 (Gabriel Charles) - Longshot is one of a pair entered by trainer Jeff Mullins and the two race uncoupled. He was a "game" winner of his debut at Del Mar on July 21st and raced evenly in the Del Mar Futurity in his first facing winners. Draws near the rail and seems the type that will enjoy the longer distance.
