Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (AMATARA) (5-2) - She tired last out sprinting at Los Alamitos as the heavy favorite. Not sure what happened, but this $75K purchased had finished second in her previous pair under similar conditions. Barn stretches her out to a mile and think she'll be tough with her 'A' game.
2nd pick: #4 (Saving Sophie) (3-1) - One of two entered by Ron Ellis, she rallied to finish second here going 6 furlongs at this level Oct. 14. Only her second start, it was her first since debuting here on the grass May 18. A $260K purchase, she's bred to like this longer trip and is making back-to-back attempts for the first time. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Mucho Macho Woman) (4-1) - The second filly from trainer Ron Ellis, she tired from between horses to finish 7 lengths behind barn-mate 'Saving Sophie' sprinting here Oct. 14. She draws a good post, has early speed, stretches out, and Talamo stays aboard.
4th pick: #1 (Catch the Eye) (6-1) - Home bred daughter of 'QualityRoad' has been freshened up since a wide and even effort at this level and distance on the Del Mar turf Aug. 18. This is her first ever on the dirt, she has a ground saving post, and is dangerous if able to handle the new surface.
