Top pick: #9 (GIRL DOWNSTAIRS) - Filly was bet down to 2-1 when debuting here Sept. 28 and did well to finish fourth of 11, beaten 1 1/2 lengths. Trainer Bob Baffert (24% second time out) has worked twice since and runs with blinkers off. Gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #4 (Windy Forecast) (5-2) - Another heavily bet in her debut, she pressed the pace and held gamely to finish second Aug. 10 at Del Mar. Barn sent her right into the G1 "Del Mar Debutante" three weeks later, and she tired after setting a quick and contentious pace. Freshened up for almost two months, she's working fast locally for her first on conventional dirt. Win candidate.
rd pick: #8 (Suva Harbor) (4-1) - Grey daughter of "Rockport Harbor" was involved in the pace and held strongly when finishing second at Los Alamitos in her debut Sept. 21. Excellent first outing, and she must be left in the mix.
th pick: #1 (Cadet Roni) (5-1) - One of a half-dozen making their debuts, filly by "Colonel John" has the rail, and her trainer Mark Glatt is having a career best year. If she runs to her drills, she could grab a small share at a big price.
th pick: #2 (Lilies and Roses) (15-1) - Another that's working fast, trainer Dan Hendricks is capable first out (17%)and has Trujillo aloft.
