Top pick: #5 (PAT THE BEAR) (9-2) - Speedy and lightly raced, he's gone 4-2-2-0 since his debut and has run well on the local dirt 3-2-1-0. Freshened up since March 13, he returns as a new gelding and has been working both steadily and above average. Capable from both on and just off the lead, he can take this if ready off almost a two month break.
nd pick: #1 (Louden's Gray) (20-1) - Longshot is another returning from a two-month break a new gelding. Very fast from the gate, $110K 4-year-old by 'Street Sense' has some blazing works on view, including a bullet half-mile breeze here (best of 51) on the morning of May 4th. Very dangerous at a big price from his inside post.
rd pick: #8 (Cherubim) (5-1) - Once promising son of 'Henny Hughes' is returning from his third layoff in this spot. Stakes placed early in 2014, he's racing for the first time since Nov 2. Working very fast and all of his best races have come on this main track 4-1-2-0.
th pick: #9 (Success Rate) (15-1) - Strong finisher checked in second here facing a bit weaker April 16th in his first local dirt start. Has talent, and he should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into. It would help his cause if he can avoid a wide trip.
th pick: #4 (Chasintheaces) (8-1) - Lightly-raced 5-year-old by 'Indian Charlie' finished third here at this level going 7-furlongs April 19th. He's racing back into shape following an 8-month layoff and must be left in the mix.
