2nd pick: #7 (Lord Simba) (9-2) - One of a pair from the Baffert barn, lightly raced 6yo chased and tired late racing at this level and distance Dec. 2 at Del Mar. It was his first start since Aug. 19 of 2017 and he should be much fitter today in his 2nd back from the long layoff.
3rd pick: #5 (Captain Scotty) (3-1) - The second of the pair from the Miller barn, speedy and lightly raced 5yo missed by a 'head at this level and distance Dec. 2 at Del Mar. He was 4.5 lengths in front of 'Lord Simba' that afternoon and should be involved every step.
4th pick: #4 (Microrithns) (4-1) - The second of the Bob Baffert runners, he won facing weaker going 6 furlongs on a sloppy surface Dec. 6. Competitive in all four starts, speed/stalker must be left in the mix despite facing tougher today.
