Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (SLIM SHADEY) (5-1) - Veteran ships back from Golden Gate Fields where he was a winner going a mile in his first ever on a synthetic surface. 8yo was a stakes winner earlier in his career on the local grass, and he's always had a flexible running style. Gets the call in a very competitive field.
nd pick: #8 (Procurement) (9-2) - Another former stakes performer, he hasn't been quite the same after coming back from a 15-month layoff this past June. He did win at Del Mar Oct. 22nd and is dropping down to a new low. Working well for this attempt and a threat with his best.
rd pick: #3 (Chips All In) (10-1) - Very consistent veteran is racing second back off almost a two-month layoff, and is stretching far out in distance. The main speed, he's in good form sprinting and should be involved most of the way at a big price. Can factor if allowed to set slow fractions.
th pick: #1 (McHeat) (7-2) - Lightly raced and still improving, he's won his last three turf starts, and earned a career best 'figure' here Jan. 14th. Trainer Barry Abrams is stretching him back out, but this 4yo won at a mile on the local grass Jan. 1st. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #4 (Diamond Bachelor) (20-1) - Longshot is going dirt to turf and stretching back out. Well bred 5yo was stakes placed here a year ago to the day when he was beaten by a length in the G2 San Marcos Stakes. Capable of getting a share at a big price.
