Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (WOLF MAN ROCKET) (3-1) - He's one of two well bred and lightly raced colts trained by Bob Baffert. He broke his maiden in a $100K stakes going a mile at Oaklawn Park April 11. In his follow up start, $550,000 son of 'Mineshaft' tired after the pace in the G2 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont May 9. On the sidelines since, he's working fast, and 3yo finished 2nd this past winter here in both starts when he was still a maiden.
2nd pick: #3 (Logan's Moon) (5-2) - Very lightly raced 5yo, rallied to finish 3rd at this level and distance Nov. 8th at Del Mar. It was his first start since March 6 when he checked in 2nd here at this condition going 8.5 furlongs. He likes it here (3-1-2-0) and is a stretch threat.
3rd pick: #4 (Dream Team) (7-2) - The second of the Baffert pair, he's shortening up in distance after tiring at this level going a mile at Del Mar Dec. 6th. It was his first facing winners, and he raced both wide and between horses after breaking from an outside post. Working fast for this, and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #7 (Gangham Guy) (8-1) - A three time winner on the dirt, he enters off a wide and even effort sprinting on the Del Mar grass in an entry-level allowance Nov. 15th. Fits with his best, and he has a big experience edge on the other selections. He's dangerous at a big price.
