2nd pick: #1 (California Nectar) - Consistent runner is one of two entered that has run on this surface and that effort produced a win for her Dec. 27 at this 7 furlong trip in the $100K California Breeder's Challenge. Has a flexible style, draws the rail, and she would be no surprise.
3rd pick: #2 (Star Presence) - One of a pair entered by trainer Bob Baffert and they'll race as separate interests. Filly has been competitive in all six of her starts and comes into this off a maiden win here Dec. 30. She cuts back a furlong for this but her experience on this surface should not be taken lightly.
