Top pick: #3 (GO WEST MARIE) (2-1) - Very consistent turf veteran has gone 7-3-1-3 on this course since coming from the east coast around this time a year ago. She's won her last two (both stakes) when facing fellow Calif. breds and last out ran second here in a G3 contest against 'open' company. In shape, working well, and the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Wild in the Saddle) (7-2) - Speedy mare has won two in a row here at this distance on the main track. Her grass record is poor 4-0-0-1, but she's much better overall since her last turf appearance. Working well above average, and it's nice to see Bejarano back on the re-ride.
3rd pick: #5 (Chati's On Top) (6-1) - Strong finisher has gone 6-2-2-2 since coming off a short layoff in late October. Much improved since switching to the turf, her local recording is excellent 6-2-3-1. Working fast and is a win threat down the lane.
4th pick: #6 (Qiaona) (5-1) - Her lack of speed is a concern and she's been beaten by 'Go West Marie' on a regular basis. However, on March 14th she was only a 1/2 length back of that rival. Believe she's limited to a minor award unless the pace is fast and/or contested.
