Top pick: #5 (BRANDO THE BIRDMAN) (5-2) - He enters off a career best when he rallied to win here going 6-furlongs for a $32K tag April 16. Claimed that day by Bill Spawr (29%), he brings him back almost 6-weeks later well under the claimed price. Not all that unusual a move by a claiming barn, and this gelding is spotted to win another.
2nd pick: #7 (Gladding) (8-1) - He's dropping in class and shortening up in distance in his third back off a trio of long layoffs. Once much classier type is working fast for this attempt and may be sitting on a big effort.
3rd pick: #3 (Jonny's Choice) (10-1) - Speedy gelding moves way up in class after a wire-to-wire score at the local claiming bottom ($8000) April 25. It was his first off a two month break, and gelding is another that has some back class. His early speed must be respected.
4th pick: #6 (Ranulf) (4-1) - Consistent sort has gone 8-3-0-2 racing on conventional dirt. Stretch runner rallied to finish third here at this level May 9. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
