Top pick: #10 (SIDEPOCKET CHAMP) (3-1) - He enters in sharp form where most of the others are in questionable shape at this time. Speed/stalker has finished second in two straight at this level and draws a nice outside post for this 6.5-furlong trip. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #6 (Maximinus) (7-2) - Lightly-raced, he's dropping his claiming price in half for this attempt. Speedy sort was only beaten 3-lengths racing for a $25K tag here March 5th. It was his first in 10-months and a positive effort. He did not break cleanly in his follow up race a month later. Working fast since, to go along with the drop, trainer Rich Baltas adds blinkers. Win candidate.
rd pick: #11 (Takem by Surprise) (10-1) - He rallied to finish third last out at this level going 6-furlongs. Speed/stalker is racing back into shape after coming off an 8-month layoff Jan 11. Has a good post and can factor at a square price.
th pick: #4 (Cinematic Cat) (12-1) - Gelding has tired in both starts facing a bit tougher since breaking his maiden here on Feb 1. Barn drops him a bit and he may grab a minor award at long odds.
th pick: #3 (Advisory) (6-1) - He obviously has some physical issues with many layoffs noted during his 10-race career. He tired here April 1st when racing for twice this price and is dropping to a new low in class for this attempt. Whatever he has left should come out in this spot.
