Top pick: #6 (YOUNG AND HUNGRY) (3-1) - Colt rallied to miss by a 'head' when debuting here at this level and distance Feb. 7. Home bred by "Candy Ride" should break his maiden with any improvement in his second start.
nd pick: #3 (Anytime Anyplace) (7-2) - Speedy colt tracked, bid to the front, then was unfinished by a 1/2 length. He was only that margin behind "Young and Hungry" that afternoon and has been working fast since. A strong win candidate.
rd pick: #9 (Best Two Minutes) (8-1) - He ships down from Golden Gate Fields where he missed by a 1/2 length going 6-furlongs on the 'poly' surface there when debuting Feb. 14. Bred to handle the grass and can factor at a square price.
th pick: #4 (Tizzing) (4-1) - One of five making their debuts, son of "Tiznow" has been working sharply here at Santa Anita since early November. The drills indicate he's ready to make an impact first out of the gate.
th pick: #1 (Hauler) (20-1) - Longshot cost $325K and has been a disappointment so far. Freshened up since late Dec., he's working well and is racing on the grass for the first time.
