Top pick: #6 (CHELIOS) (4-1) - Home-bred by "Distorted Humor" has been freshened up since breaking his maiden here going 6.5-furlongs Jan. 26. Working well for his return, colt gets a stern test today in a field that is very "deep" for the level.
nd pick: #2 (Ferocious) (9-2) - Colt by "Tale of the Cat" cost $300,000 11 months ago and has run well in both appearances. Stalker broke his maiden here March 8th and he earned a lofty "figure" that afternoon. Win candidate.
rd pick: #9 (True Ten) (4-1) - Cal.-bred won his debut here on Feb. 16, then raced evenly when checking-in fourth of six, beaten 2 1/2 lengths at this level going 8.5-furlongs March 16th. He's worked fast since and trainer Vlad Cerin will cut him back in distance and Bejarano gets aboard.
th pick: #4 (Papa Turf) (5-1) - He exits the same March 16th contest as "True Ten" and was a length better than that rival on the wire. Stakes placed stalker tries hard every time, is working nicely, and fits with his normal effort.
th pick: #7 (Horse Laugh) (12-1) - The field's lone multiple winner has done so three times and strong finisher won his only local dirt start Jan. 16. Gelding will be a big price and should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
