He won the G3 Sham Stakes going a mile in the slop here Jan. 7 and did so on a surface I don't think he liked. Training fast, stalker has a solid shot at putting the first blemish on the record of 'Mastery.'
2nd pick: #4 (Mastery) (6-5) - Undefeated colt makes his 3-year-old debut today after going a perfect three-for-three in 2016. Very fast from the gate, he closed out his first campaign with a sharp wire-to-wire score in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G1) early Dec. Working fast and an obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #7 (Iliad) (5-2) - The third talented member in this deep field, he's stretching out around two turns for the first time. He was an easy winner here going seven furlongs in the G2 San Vicente Feb. 12 and earned the highest figure any of these has reached so far. Dangerous today.
