2nd pick: #2 (Paythebank) (9-2) - Long time maiden enters off a wide and even effort Aug 22 at Del Mar. Freshened up since, gelding by 'Lemon Drop Kid' has finished second in two of five starts on this grass course. Stalker has a pair of sharp 6-furlong works here since his latest and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Boone Docks) (4-1) - Even-paced type enters off a career best Sept. 6 at Del Mar. Racing on the turf for the first time, he checked in fourth of 12, beaten just over four lengths going a mile. It was his second back off a half-year's absence and he's worked fast at Los Alamitos since. Well bred, he coast $575,000 and is a threat in this spot.
4th pick: #7 (Broken Up) (5-1) - Lightly-raced, he ships back from Golden Gate Fields where he rallied to miss by a 'nose' at this level Sept. 5. Only his second start overall, it was his first on the turf and first around two-turns. In a top barn (Rich Mandella), home bred by 'Broken Vow' must be left in the mix.
