Top pick: #5 (SOLAR ECLIPSE) - Grey filly improved noticeably when moved to grass here in her second start. In an October 7th contest common to seversl others, she was involved in a spirited pace-duel from start to finish and hald gamely tocheck in third. Trainer Kristin Mulhall (13-2-3-4) at this meet) has worked her twice since and she gets the call in a highly competive maiden race going "down the hill."
2nd pick: #3 (Citizenship) - The probable favorite, she hails from the Baffert barn (45-15-11-5 at this meet) and last out she finished second, a 1/2 length better than "Eclipse." Filly has since come back with a sharp half-mile drill on Oct. 23 and is an obvious win candidate, though at a "short" price.
3rd pick: #10 (Suncadia) - Improving daughter of "Tiznow" set a fast pace and weakened in the final furlong to run third here at this level and distance in early Oct. By far her best yet, it came off a 2 1/2 month freshening and filly draws ouitside of the other speed types.
4th pick: #6 (Sweet Red Cat) - She just missed when debuting at Kentucky Downs racing for a $30K tag on Sept. 19. Filly has since moved to the west coast and has a new trainer (John Sadler 26% with new arrivals). She's worked three times locally and all have been above average. Stretch threat.
