Top pick: #8 (GIRL DOWNSTAIRS) (9-2) - She's one of two entered by trainer Bob Baffert, and both have a shot at winning this. Unraced since Oct. 19th, she chased while wide before tiring that afternoon racing here at this level. Daughter of 'A.P.Warrior' had been much sharper in her debut, and Baffert has her working very fast for her return. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Cadet Roni) (10-1) - Longshot finished 6-lengths in front of 'Girl Downstairs' when debuting here Oct. 19th. Sent to the sidelines until April 4, filly tired in her return after being sent hard from her rail post. Working nicely for this, she moves off the inside for the first time and can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #7 (Super Majesty) (5-2) - One of four debuting fillies, daughter of 'Derby' winner 'Super Saver' has 8-works showing since late March. All have been at Los Alamitos, with five of those being of the bullet variety. Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer wins at a 28% first out, and the rest are in trouble if she runs to her a.m. drills.
4th pick: #5 (Lady Bull) (4-1) - The second of the Baffert pair, debuting daughter of 'Zensational' has been in steady training since late Feb. A near bullet 5-furlong gate breeze here May 13 indicates speed is present. With Baffert's main rider (Marty Garcia) aboard 'Girl Downstairs,' the aggressive Marty Pedroza rides this home bred.
5th pick: #2 (Tiz Josselyn) (6-1) - She raced evenly in a good debut here April 19. Filly by 'Tiznow' earned a good 'figure' and can factor with normal second out improvement.
