Top pick: #8 (KATIE'S GARDEN) (3-1) - Lightly raced and well-bred, she looked sharp when breaking her maiden at Hollywood at this distance on Dec. 21st. Moss home-bred draws a nice outside post, and has been competitive in both previous runs on real dirt.
2nd pick: #7 (Splendid Fortune) (5-1) - Mare from the Baffert barn is working very fast at Hollywood for her first since last March when she chased and held to finish second here. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" is very quick from the gate, and has run well when fresh in the past.
3rd pick: #4 (Our Poor Creation) (9-2) - She has a pair of wins, one each on dirt & "poly." Lightly raced filly went gate to wire in an "off the turf" contest going 8.5-furlongs at Hollywood on Dec. 7th. Working fast since, and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Rhodium) (8-1) - Longshot has a speed/stalking style and broke her maiden here back in Oct. of 2012 in her only previous local start. In shape, and she just missed last out at Hollywood facing a bit weaker. Price play.
