Top pick: #5 (TWENTY ELEVEN) (8-1) - Price play was well backed when debuting here in late October racing for a $20K tag. She raced both wide and evenly while finishing 5th of 10, beaten almost a dozen lengths. Claimed that day by trainer George Papaprodromou, he has her training nicely and doubles her up in price. Daughter of "Candy Ride" has a solid shot at long odds.
2nd pick: #6 (Katerrific) (5-1) - Speedy filly drops after showing a sharp early foot when facing tougher at Los Alamitos Dec. 12. It was her first race in nine months and trainer Len Powell drops her into a claimer. The presence of Bejarano back on the re-ride is a big plus. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Sierra Electrica) (8-1) - $140K daughter of "Tapit" is training very fast at Los Alamitos for her first start since Oct. 12. This is her first in a claimer and the last time she was in a dirt sprint she finished a close up second at Santa Rosa on Aug. 10.
4th pick: #8 (Midnight Dime) (8-1) - Not a win threat but filly is another taking the drop into maiden claimers for the first time. Daughter of "Montbrook" could get a minor award at a big price.
