Top pick: #10 (MISS COMMUNICATION) - Excellent effort here in her first on the grass saw her race close-up through-out and finish third, beaten a length, racing at this distance and level. Many runners don't like thie "down the hill" course, so it's nice to know that she can handle it. The top pick, she's one of a pair entered here by trainer Mike Mitchell and the two fillies race uncoupled.
2nd pick: #7 (Mirror Ball) - The second of the Mitchell pair, English-bred filly missed by a nose in a large field when debuting on Sept. 29 in England at the second tier track at Warwick. Mitchell adds blinkers for this (18%) and he wins at an impressive 33% with new arrivals to his barn.
3rd pick: #2 (Belle Passe) - Excellent effort in Ireland when debuting at the Curragh last May saw her miss by a head in a large field (16). Working well for her North American unveiling, she has a new trainer (Pete Eurton) and is a win candidate if ready.
4th pick: #1 (Ramona's Ride) - Florida-bred rallied after a slow start to finish third when debuting in a 5-furlong turf sprint at Calder last October. Has a new trainer (Ted West) and he had her work four times locally during the month of January. Don't just dismiss.
