Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (HEAT) (7-2) - He's improved a lot in his last three starts and is in career best shape since coming back from almost a 9 1/2 month layoff Jan. 15. Home bred broke his maiden here at this distance April 2 and earned by far his best figure to date. Trainer Tim Yakteen brings him back quickly and has him nicely spotted in his first facing winners.
2nd pick: #3 (Over Par) (5-2) - Reddam home bred has been on the sidelines since Nov. 17. He rallied to miss by a 1/2 length that day racing at this level going a mile on the Del Mar grass. Strong finisher is working above average at Los Alamitos for his return and is dangerous if ready.
3rd pick: #5 (Holdthismiss) (8-1) - Longshot ships from Golden Gate Fields and will be moving from the Taepta surface there to the local turf. Stalker has done well up north on the grass 5-2-1-0 and is capable of getting a share at a big price.
4th pick: #9 (Record Highs) (5-1) - He raced evenly here at this trip facing state bred allowance foes March 24. A useful effort, it was his first start since May 1. Even-paced type has worked twice since and can factor with some improvement in his second back off the long layoff.
