2nd pick: #1 (Twirling Apples) (7-2) - Lightly-raced filly has become a much better runner since switching to the turf Oct. 6. Freshened up since Jan. 12, she was beaten 3.5 lengths here that day at this distance for twice this price. Working fast, she has the rail, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Subic Bay) (3-1) - Lightly-raced mare missed by just under a length here at this level and distance March 8. This field drew tougher, but she must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #7 (Hotsy Dotsy) (8-1) - No-speed type has been competitive in two of three at this level and distance since getting her maiden win Dec. 9 at Los Alamitos. Unless the pace is fast and/or contested a minor award from off the pace is her ceiling.
