He over-came some early traffic issues to finish second when debuting here at this level going 6.5-furlongs Sept 27. Baffert (21% second time out) stretches him out in distance (25%). Working fast for this and he's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Nightly News) (5-2) - Another of the Baffert trio, he's finished second and third in his first pair, both coming at this one-mile distance. Stalker improved last out and has since come back with two solid works. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Urlacher) (5-1) - Stretch-out sprinter has raced evenly in his first pair while finishing second and third. He was 3 1/2 behind 'Mor Spirit' going 6.5-furlongs here Sept 27. Has the rail and is bred to like this longer distance.
4th pick: #6 (Uninvited) (8-1) - The third from the Baffert barn, he ran evenly when debuting in a Los Alamitos sprint Sept 18. He's stretching out in distance and may get a minor award at a big price.
