Top pick: #4 (NIGHTTIMING) (3-1) - Well bred filly has been freshened up since Aug. 31 when she missed by a 1/2 length racing at this level and distance. Freshened up since, daughter of "Pioneer of the Nile" is working fast for her return, has Bejarano aboard, and gets a slight wedge.
2nd pick: #1 (Star Act) (7-2) - She's finished second in three of five on the local turf and is coming off almost the same short vacation as "Nighttiming." Home bred by "Street Cry" draws the rail, has a flexible style, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Nicegirlsfinishlast) (5-2) - Stalker just missed at Del Mar Aug. 14 at this level racing on the turf. Her career has been beset with layoffs, but 4-year-old has been a consistent performer in all her races. Working nicely and she should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #3 (Seek a Star) (6-1) - Daughter of "Smart Strike" began her career in England and finished fourth, only two back of "Nighttiming" in her North American debut. Another that's working well and is a major player at a square price.
