Top pick: #8 (DANGER RANGER) - Logical favorite comes into this off a sharp second-place finish at Del mar Sept. 2 racing at this price going 3/4s. Improving for a capable barn (Kristin Mulhall) and he should love this 7 furlong trip. All the known speed is to his inside and that should lead to a comfortable stalking trip. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Ello Guv) - He's one of a pair entered by trainer Doug O'Neill and they'll race as separate interests. Gelding finished a rallying second at Del Mar when debuting on Aug. 31 and did so despite a slow start and some traffic issues. Two-year-old by "Discreet Cat" has a bullet half-mile work from the gate here five days ago and looks all set for his best. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Sabe) - He's been competitive in both starts and last out rushed up after a slow start to set the pace and he held gamely until the last 1/16th when he tired to finish fourth of 12. He's worked three time on this surface since then and should be involved from start to finish.
