Top pick: #1 (TAMARACK SMARTY) (5-2) - Veteran ships in from Fairplex where he won for a $12.50 tag at this distance on Sept. 8, then ran an even third there facing tougher 11 days later. Strong finisher has the rail and can run them down turning for home.
2nd pick: #3 (Quiet Command) (4-1) - Most all his success has been on the grass, but he has dangerous early speed in a field without a lot of other pace on paper. Working fast for his first since Aug. 18, he runs first off a Dean Peterson claim.
3rd pick: #8 (Tucker's Point) (3-1) - Gelding has won two in a row since being claimed by Pete Miller in late July at Del Mar. Strong finisher is 11-1-2-3 on real dirt and is nicely spotted this afternoon.
4th pick: #2 (Kingman Kid) (8-1) - He finished a non-threatening third to "Smarty" on Sept. 8 at Fairplex and this veteran has a bit more speed than most entered. Longshot can factor with his best.
