Top pick: #10 (POSITIVO) (5-2) - Very lightly-raced filly races for the first time since late July at Del Mar. She was bet down to favoritism in both starts last year and had legitimate excuses in each. Three-year-old 'hopped' at the break in her debut, then tired while showing good early speed while racing between horses in start #2. Training fast and trainer Mike Puype drops her way down in class. Spotted to win and I like her chances.
nd pick: #1 (Haaay Sexy Lady) (7-2) - Speedy filly draws the rail and is racing third back from a 7 1/2 month layoff. She's been involved in spirited speed duels in her return pair and is dropping down to a new low in class. Home bred should be involved every step. Win candidate.
rd pick: #7 (Stunning Taste) (12-1) - She was away slowly from the rail in a large field (12) April 17th and tired badly after rushing up. She's worked fast since, moves off the inside, and is another dropping down to a new low.
th pick: #6 (Saturday Yodeler) (6-1) - Daughter of 'Swiss Yodeler' is racing second back from a 9-month layoff and plunging in class. She did not break well in her return start March 26th but should move forward off of it. Filly has worked fast since and trainer Mike Harrington will add blinkers.
th pick: #5 (Catalina Bonita) (10-1) - Another who was off slowly last out, she raced evenly while never involved once in stride. That was her first off a 14 1/2 month absence and trainer Kristin Mulhall has worked her four time since.
