Top pick: #4 (GOYAN) (3-1) - He's been freshened up since pressing a fast pace here at this level Jan. 1 and tiring in the final furlong to check in fifth. Working well for his return, blinkers go on and 4-year-old gets some weight off with apprentice Van Dyke aboard.
2nd pick: #5 (Practical) (5-2) - Unraced since late Aug. at Del Mar, he's working fast and trainer Mike Pender drops him into a claimer for the first time. Bejarano gets aboard and he wins at a solid 31% rate when teamed-up with Pender.
3rd pick: #2 (War Destiny) (7-2) - Debuting gelding by "War Front" has some fast drills at San Louis Rey Downs and trainer Pete Miller wins at a 21% rate first out.
4th pick: #1 (I Buy Gold) (6-1) - He has the rail, a bit of speed, but needs to do better for anything more than a minor award.
