Top pick: #9 (MOONLIGHT MEETING) (2-1) - He's racing as a new gelding and is dropping into a claimer for the first time. Very fast from the gate, he continues to work fast and runs without blinkers this afternoon. Lots of things to like.
nd pick: #5 (Preordained) (5-1) - He enters off a career best when he finished 4th of 12, beaten 2 1/2 lengths here at this tag on Feb. 16. He ran wide that day and also had some traffic issues. Trainer Jorge Periban replaces apprentice Pena with Edwin Meldonado. Win candidate.
rd pick: #6 (Steel Dragon) (8-1) - Lightly-raced gelding has shown a bit of speed in his first pair while finishing evenly. Four-year-old still has room for improvement and has a pair of good works heading into this attempt.
th pick: #11 (Lute It Up) (12-1) - Another who is lightly raced, well bred colt chased and tired last out racing at this tag going 7-furlongs. It was a nice improvement off his debut and he draws a nice outside post at this trip.
th pick: #8 (El Monterey) (7-2) - Grey gelding has rallied to finish second and third in his first pair. Both have been at this tag and he's going an additional furlong this afternoon. Stretch threat, but he'll be over-bet.
