He had just missed in his previous pair on the main track at this level and will be tough with a repeat of either of those efforts.
2nd pick: #6 (Caray) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, he's finished 2nd in two of his last three. Stalker was 5.5 lengths in back of 'Treasure Hunter' April 22, but he had a rough trip racing between horses that afternoon. He draws a great outside post for his style and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Gringo Star) (5-1) - Much improved in his last pair, speed/stalker moves up in class after missing by a 'neck' here at this distance May 3 for a $20,000 claiming price. State bred worked fast June 8, and I think he'll be competitive at a square price.
