2nd pick: #4 (Son of the South) (6-1) - Blinkers go on 5yo who doubles up in price after finishing 3rd at Los Alamitos going 5.5 furlongs for a $20K tag Dec 16. It was his first race in 8 months and he's worked fast since. Think he can factor at a square price.
3rd pick: #3 (Siege of Vicksburg) (5-1) - One of three making their debuts, 4yo has been in steady training since late October for Rick Mandella. Several of the a.m. drills are well above average and colt looks set to be competitive first out.
4th pick: #6 (Bad Boy Leroy) (7-2) - Another of the debuting trio, he's worked 9 times here since Nov 10 and had a near bullet 5 furlong drill Jan 4. Capable barn (Mark Glatt) looks like he has him ready to impact in his initial attempt.
