Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (BISTRO LIGHTS) (5-2) - On the sidelines since late April, gelding is dropping way down in class and is switching from turf to dirt. He raced evenly here going 'down the hill' facing special weights in his only previous start. Trainer Mark Glatt has him working fast, and he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (My Ole Bud) (3-1) - Grey gelding is another coming off a late April absence. He's dropping in class and is back sprinting. 4yo worked a sharp, five furlongs from the gate Jan. 9th and gets weight off with newly arrived apprentice Lattanzio aboard.
3rd pick: #7 (Desert Express) (4-1) - 4yo has been competitive in four of his last five, and last out rallied to check in 3rd of 10, beaten by 3.5 lengths Dec. 18th at Los Alamitos. He's worked fast twice here since then and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Showtime Adventure) (8-1) - Lightly raced gelding debuted in the same Dec. 18th race at Los Alamitos as 'Desert Express.' He was involved in a spirited speed duel through fast fractions and tired in the last furlong. He has the rail and should be involved from start-to-finish at a square price.
