Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (JUSTIN'S QUEST) (2-1) - One of two entered by trainer Rich Baltas, and this colt is the probable favorite. Lightly raced, he's finished 2nd in two straight at this distance. And in his latest, he missed by a 'nose' at Del Mar Nov. 17. Speed/stalker should break his maiden this afternoon.
2nd pick: #4 (Route Six Six) (3) - Expensive ($340,000) son of 'Quality Road' finished 2nd here going 8.5 furlongs Feb. 16, but tired badly in his follow up after bobbling at the start March 29. On the sidelines since, he has a fine series of works on view and should factor if ready.
3rd pick: #6 (Caribbean) (7-2) - Australian import has early speed, and last out tired while racing wide to finish almost five lengths in back of 'Justin's Quest.' It was a useful effort and gives him a recency edge on 'Route Six Six.' It's noted that the very selective Mike Smith is aboard for trainer John Shirreffs, and that pair is famous for teaming up with 'Zenyatta' some years back.
4th pick: #5 (Holly Blame) (10-1) - This longshot had to be 'pulled up' last out when his rein broke entering he clubhouse turn. Even paced at this level prior to that, he was only three lengths in back of 'Justin's Quest' here at this distance Oct. 4. Gelding may get a share at a square price.
