Top pick: #4 (DIAMOND BACHELOR) (6-5) - Undefeated (2 for 2) son of "War Front" couldn't have been more impressive in her two wins. He rated a bid in his career debut at Del Mar before drawing off to an easy win, then went wire-to-wire a month later at the same track to win the $100K "Oak Tree Juvenile." This is his final "prep" before the "Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf" (G1), and this $575K colt is working fast for this attempt.
2nd pick: #6 (Station House) (4-1) - Home-bred looked sharp when winning his debut at Del Mar on July 24, then was "rank" and hard to handle when eased up in the stakes won by "Bachelor." Working nicely since, he moves off the inside, and I think he'll be competitive today.
3rd pick: #5 (Home School) (5-1) - Irish-import split "Bachelor" & "Station" last out in his first race in N. America. Colt kept good company overseas, and it's nice to see Bejarano getting aboard today.
4th pick: #3 (Got Shades) (7-2) - He's won back-to-back grass stakes at Louisiana Downs, and is working fast locally for his first Cal start. Barn (Danny Pish) wins lots of races every year, and this colt gets a class test this afternoon.
