Top pick: #7 (CANDREA) (4-1) - Filly stretches out in good form after a close up 3rd place finish going 7 furlongs in the G1 "La Brea" stakes which drew a very deep field. Working nicely, she's one of two entered by trainer Bob Baffert and it gives him a strong hand.
2nd pick: #1 (Distracting) (2-1) - The 2nd of the Baffert fillies, she's lightly raced, very fast from the gate, and has been sharp (3-2-1-0)in her trio of sprints. Has the rail and is a win candidate on the front end.
3rd pick: #2 (Curvy Cat) (6-1) - One of two entered by the Hollendorfer barn and she's the more talented of the pair. Very consistent, is capable on real dirt, and she'll be trying a two-turn distance for the first time.
5th pick: #3 (Charm the Maker) (5-2) - Stakes winner is not the same runner on real dirt that she is on "poly", but is capable on it and has been facing much tougher fields than most of this group. Strong finisher is working fine and is a contender, but at a short price.
