Top pick: #10 (DERBY HAT) - Bet down to favoritism last out at Fairplex, she rallied strongly while wide to finish second in an abbreviated sprint (4 furlongs) racing at this tag on Sept. 14. Working well since and trainer Jeff Bonde will stretch her out in distance this afternoon. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Bluejoy) - Unraced since June 16th, filly finished third when debuting at Lone Star Park on May 11, then tired in a stakes there in her second outing. Grey daughter of "Corinthian" has a new trainer (Steve Asmussen 21% with new arrivals) and he'll drop her into a claimer off of a steady work tab.
3rd pick: #4 (Jazz Girl) - Home-bred by "Bertrando" didn't handle the tight turns at Fairplex when debuting at this price on Sept. 23. She took some action at the windows and think she'll be competitive for a strong trainer (Jeff Mullins) and jockey (Joel Rosario) combine for 10 for their last 24.
4th pick: #8 (Swiss in Paris) - Speedy sort ran second last out at Fairplex in a 4-furlong sprint racing at this level. "Derby" defeated her on Sept. 14 by a bit more than two lengths, but this filly's early speed should have her involved from start to finish.
