Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (IRISH CREAM N KAFE) (5-2) - Lightly raced home bred from the Tommy Town operation showed improved early speed before tiring to finish 4th here going 6.5 furlongs for a $30K tag April 14. It was only her second start and a nice improvement off her March 30 debut. Trainer Steve Miyadi drops her down, shortens her up a 1/16th, and has her shedding 5lbs with apprentice Figueroa aboard. 3yo gets a small edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Yalla) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, filly has been competitive six straight starts without winning all at or near this $20K price tag. Speed/stalker is an obvious and strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Mariana's Girl) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Hector Palma, even paced type has regressed some in her last two starts following four straight where she was a bit more competitive. Can factor today, but she needs to do better for a legit shot at winning this.
4th pick: #1 (Angel Tears) (12-1) - 4yo tired here at this level and distance March 29 in her first start since May 25 of last year. She most likely needed the race, has worked fast three times since, and she breaks from the rail. Longshot may factor at a big price.
