Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (NONO'S POLARIS) (2-1) - This lightly raced colt has been competitive in all three starts and was a sharp maiden winner here going 6.5 furlongs while facing $50K Cal-bred claimers Feb. 8. It was his first in three months, his first for trainer Steve Knapp, and I think he can win right back.
2nd pick: #1 (Brickyard Ride) (5-2) - Well backed going a mile on the local turf Jan. 17, he was in contention when he ducked in through the rail and was pulled up. Working fast since, he's back sprinting on the dirt, and he broke his maiden here at this distance Oct. 11. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Baltimore Beecho) (9-2) - He's dropping down a bit, goes grass to dirt, and is cutting back in distance. Home-bred has been competitive the last three times he sprinted on the dirt, and I expect him to do so today.
4th pick: #4 (Project Leader) (15-1) - The longshot has some good works showing for his first since Aug. 10. He flashed early speed last summer and is capable of getting a share today at a big price.
