Top pick: #6 (BUCKLEBERRY GREY) (2-1) - He's one of three entered that broke their maidens last out. This grey gelding did so May 21 going 5.5-furlongs for a $20K tag. It was his first race 25-months and he was bet down to 3-2 favoritism. He had some promise before the long absence and it's nice to see him have three works since the win. Stalker draws a nice outside post and the additional furlong is a plus.
2nd pick: #1 (Go Jeremiah) (8-1) - Long shot is another that broke his maiden last out. Stalker is in shape following his return from a pair of layoffs and he has a nice ground saving post from which to launch his rally. Price play.
3rd pick: #3 (Public Policy) (2-1) - Speedy sort has been competitive in three straight here at this level after coming back from almost a 3-month layoff Feb 8. In shape, and he should be involved every step. Win candidate at a short price.
4th pick: #4 (Flat Gone) (5-2) - No-speed type rallied to finish foruth last out but was 3 1/2 lengths behind 'Public Policy.' Bejarano replaces apprentice Pena, but this stretch runner will still need a fast and/or contested pace for any shot at the top prize.
