2nd pick: #1 (Awesome Return) (3-1) - He also exits the local "Cal Cup Derby" on the dirt and finished an even and distant fourth after breaking slowly. He won his previous start on the grass to break his maiden, but was away in slow fashion and got a solid pace to close into. Must break cleanly to have any shot at running down "Lucky Views" in the final 1/4.
3rd pick: #2 (Better Bet) (5-1) - He won the $200k "Golden State Juvenile" on the dirt here at odds of 47-1 on Nov. 1, but has tired in all three subsequent starts. Colt will racing on the grass for the first time and will be involved early, but needs to do much better late.
