Top pick: #9 (TROY STORY) (5-2) - Gelding has had a lot of chances, but meets a weak field and he's finished second in 2-of-4 starts at this 6.5 furlong "down the hill" distance. Trainer Eddie Truman will cut him back off a pair of competitive efforts going a mile and Bejarano stays put.
2nd pick: #8 (Kilat) (3-1) - Lightly raced, he showed good early speed before tiring late at this level and trip on Jan. 24 in an "off the turf" contest. The race was his first since April 1st and trainer Mike Puype has him making back to back starts for the first time.
3rd pick: #4 (Lethal Intent) (20-1) - He's one of a pair entered by trainer Barry Abrams and he'll be cutting back in distance after a fine effort going a mile here just 12 days ago. Encouraging run was his best since last August, and he'll be a big price.
4th pick: #3 (Empty Headed) (9-2) - The second of the Abrams pair, he rallied to finish fourth here going a mile on Feb. 9 in the best start in his five race career. Stretch threat.
