Top pick: #3 (FASCINATING) (3-1) - Daughter of "Smart Strike" cost a whopping $1,300,000 back in 2012 and has proven a big disappointment. However, she's improved of late and finished second here at this level Jan. 16. It was her first facing winners and an encouraging effort. Trainer Bob Baffert has worked her three times since and I like her chances.
2nd pick: #2 (Interject) (8-5) - The probable favorite, she enters off a very impressive maiden win here at this distance Jan. 9. Daughter of "Empire Maker" is lightly raced, has room for upside, and is nicely spotted in her first facing winners. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Antiquity) (12-1) - She tired in the same last race as "Fascinating" and was 5 1/2 back of that rival at the finish. Filly has worked fast twice since and is in one of the hottest barns on the ground (Pete Eurton).
4th pick: #1 (Mum's Truckee) (6-1) - No-speed type is stretching out after rallying to finish fourth at this level going 6-furlongs Jan. 25. Has the rail and could grab a share with one of her better efforts.
