Top pick: #2 (TALE OF PAPA NICK) (6-1) - Home bred tired after pressing a fast pace when debuting here at this level going 6.5-furlongs Jan. 18. She took some betting action that afternoon and has worked fast since. Trainer Rich Baltas replaces Bill Antongeorgi with Raf Bejarano. Filly has a shot at a square price.

nd pick: #4 (Democracy Rules) (9-2) - Debuting daughter of the late "Tribal Rule" has some impressive works showing including a bullet half-mile gate breeze here on Feb. 1. Capable barn (Mike Machowsky) is having a strong meet and this home bred looks well prepared for her first start.

rd pick: #5 (Chaulk O Latte) (10-1) - She's from the same barn (Rich Baltas) as "Tale of Papa Nick" and ran evenly Dec. 21 at Los Alamitos when debuting at this level. Filly finished an even fourth that day, and a fast local drill on Jan. 30 suggests she can factor at a big price.

th pick: #8 (Seattle Salt) (15-1) - Longshot showed good early speed in her debut before weakening to finish fifth of nine. Daughter of "Salt Lake" stumbled at the break in her follow up start so that race is best viewed at a toss. Working fast and a live longshot.

th pick: #10 (Jean Edward) (7-2) - She's finished second in two straight at this level. Stalker meets a strong looking field and draws a tough outside post. Can factor, but will likely be over-bet a bit.
