Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (WHATA FLIRT) (2-1) - Filly has been competitive in five straight starts and has finished second in four of those. a 4yo Cal bred, she has a speed/stalking style and moves off the rail which will give rider Edwin Maldonado some early options. She'll be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #3 (Caracortada) (3-1) - Mare was bet down to 8-5 favoritism when debuting here at 6 furlongs March 31. She had a wide trip while chasing the speed and would eventually finish third, about 3 lengths in back of 'Whata Flirt'. A $120K purchase, she's from a good barn (Peter Miller) and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Champagne Honey) (7-2) - On the sidelines since early August, she tired that day facing tougher. She had finished second in three of four prior to that, drops to a new low, is working steadily for her return, and is dangerous if ready.
4th pick: #4 (Hansen Tale Blues) (5-2) - This 5yo mare by 'Hansen' hasn't seen action since Dec. 2 of 2017. Speedy sort has competitive in three of five facing tougher back then and drops into a claimer for the first time. She fits well if ready, but the layoff is a long one to overcome.
