2nd pick: #2 (Stradella Road) (9-2) - Away slowly going 5 furlongs at Del Mar Aug. 23, she rallied to miss by a length. A career best, it was her first start in six months and she has positive local experience in her past at this often tricky 6.5 furlong 'down the hill' trip.
3rd pick: #6 (Orageuse) (10-1) - One of a pair entered by trainer Rick Mandella she has sharp early speed and is racing second back from a 9.5-month layoff. Home bred missed by a 'neck' here at this distance before the long absence and is a serious player today.
4th pick: #5 (Madaket Sunset) (12-1) - $210K purchase tired after dueling through fast fractions in her grass debut Aug. 25 at Del Mar. Well backed in both starts, she's working fast and think she can factor at a big price.
